Breakthrough Louisville gives your child the opportunity to attend a free, 6-week academic program for 2-3 summers. The classes at Summerbridge are made up of 6-8 students, which allows for strong individual attention from the teachers. At Breakthrough Louisville the students begin work on the next year’s curriculum, which gives them a head-start on the school year. All of the learning and teaching is hands-on and creative, providing the students with an alternative learning experience.
During the school year, our partners with another non-profit, Educational Justice, to provide tutoring outside of school (educationaljustice.org). This is a free service for our families. You may sign up at the Parent Orientation prior to the beginning of our program.
Breakthrough Louisville has a strict policy regarding academic and conduct grades. If your student receives a C or below on a 6-week report, he/she will be required to attend tutoring. If a student receives a C or below for more than two 6-week report periods, they may not be able to return to the program. If a student receives a C or below for three 6-week report periods, he/she will be permanently dismissed from the program.
We are a registered 501(c)3 non profit based in Louisville, Kentucky.
