Teach with Breakthrough Louisville
Each summer, we recruit creative and hard-working college students and high school upperclassmen to lead small classes, mentor students, and grow as educators. It’s more than a summer job — it’s a chance to shape lives and your own future.
Build Skills. Learn to Lead. Change Lives
Fellows leave with professional skills, leadership experience, and the confidence to succeed in any career. At the same time, you’ll make a lasting difference for middle schoolers who need strong role models.
Be Part of Something Bigger
Join the premier summer teaching program designed for undergraduates of all majors and career aspirations. We seek mature applicants with a passion for working with students and social justice. Fellows should be open to working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and ready to engage with our diverse student body. Applications open nationwide (across 25 affiliates) in October of each calendar year. Will accept applications until we are fully staffed.

- Teach middle school students in small classes in math or language arts.
- Create classrooms where students feel supported and excited to learn.
- Mentor middle school students and build relationships that matter.
- Lead afternoon clubs to share your hobbies and talents.
- Collaborate with peers in a dynamic teaching environment.
What Parents & Teachers are Saying
I enjoyed working with a small number of students because I could give each one personalized learning plans.
